Badlands Neighbor Access Program

Free Library admission for Billings County residents through December 31, 2026

Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library rose from the same Badlands that shaped a president — built here in Medora because this community believed it belonged here. The people of Billings County are the Library's closest neighbors, and this place would not stand without them.

The Badlands Neighbor Access Program is a thank-you. From July 6 through December 31, 2026, eligible Billings County residents and their households can come as often as they like, and admission is free.

What the card gets you
A Badlands Neighbor card covers complimentary admission for one adult in the household, plus up to four dependents living at the same address. Come for an afternoon, bring the family, then come back next month — the exhibits, programs, and experiences keep growing through the opening season.

Who's eligible
Any Billings County resident. Proof of residency — a driver's license or state-issued ID — will be requested when the card is issued, and additional proof of address may be needed.

How to get your card
Cards are available now at the TRPL Field Office, 350 Third Ave. in Medora. Stop in, confirm eligibility, and pick up your card. Beginning July 6, cards can also be picked up at the Library itself.

  • The program runs July 6 through December 31, 2026. July 4 and July 5 are not included, due to Grand Opening capacity and reservations already in place.
  • The card covers admission. The shop and café are open to everyone, card or not.

Spread the word

Know a neighbor who qualifies? Pass it along. This Library is meant to be part of the community's own Badlands story — a place to return to, again and again, all year long.
