Visitor Policies
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all participants. The following policies help ensure a positive and meaningful experience for everyone.
Code of Conduct
We ask all participants to:
- Treat others with courtesy and consideration
- Follow posted guidelines and staff instructions
- Respect the preservation of artifacts and the surrounding landscape
Disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from the premises without refund.
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library reserves the right to deny entry or remove any individual whose conduct compromises the safety, dignity, or experience of others.
Weapons
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library prohibits the carrying of firearms, dangerous or deadly weapons, and explosives within its buildings and across its campus.
Bags
Permissible bags in exhibit galleries are limited to 12 x 12 x 6 inches.
Backpacks and oversized items are not permitted in exhibit galleries and must be stored prior to entry.
All permitted bags are subject to inspection.
No Smoking
The use of any tobacco product or smoking device is strictly prohibited across the entire TRPL campus.
Strollers
Single strollers are permitted in public spaces and designated galleries, provided they do not exceed 31 inches in width.
Double-wide, jogging, or oversized strollers are not permitted inside exhibit galleries and must be parked in designated areas prior to entry.
Food and Beverages
Only lidded water bottles are permitted inside exhibit galleries.
No other food or beverages are allowed in exhibition spaces.
Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the Café.
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library reserves the right to restrict any item that may compromise safety, cleanliness, or the preservation of artifacts.
Photography
Non-flash photography for personal use is permitted in most public spaces and exhibit galleries.
Flash photography, tripods, monopods, selfie sticks, lighting equipment, and other professional gear are not permitted without prior written approval.
Photography may be restricted in certain galleries or for specific artifacts due to loan agreements, copyright, or preservation requirements. Posted restrictions must be followed.
Commercial photography, filming, or media production requires advance approval.
Overnight Parking and RV Policy
Overnight parking is not permitted on the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library campus.
Parking areas are intended for participants and program use during operating hours only.
Recreational vehicles (RVs), campers, and trailers may park only in designated areas. Overnight occupancy is not permitted unless expressly authorized.
