Photography & Filming — Visitor FAQ

Absolutely. Photography for personal use is encouraged throughout most of the Library. We simply ask that you be considerate of other visitors and follow any photography restrictions in designated areas. Please don’t use flash, tripods, or other equipment that could affect other visitors or the preservation of the objects. Some temporary exhibitions or loaned objects have additional restrictions — please follow the posted signage in those areas.

Short personal videos are welcome. Commercial filming or photography requires advance approval — see below.

Yes. You’re welcome to take personal photographs during your visit. To help everyone enjoy their experience, please keep sessions to normal public hours; avoid tripods, lighting equipment, and large props; don’t block walkways, galleries, or other visitors; and keep sessions to personal use. The outdoor grounds and Boardwalk are open to all, and early morning or late afternoon often brings the best light and a quieter setting.

Commercial photography, filming, and media production require advance approval. Please reach out to press@trlibrary.com to discuss your project before your visit.

Yes. You must have prior written authorization before any launch, landing, or operation on Library property — operating without approval is prohibited. Please contact hello@trlibrary.com at least 10 days before your proposed date for details.
