Edward O’Keefe

Edward F. O’Keefe served as the founding Chief Executive Officer of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, leading the organization from 2019 through the Library’s grand opening on July 4, 2026. In September 2026, he was named President and Chief Executive Officer of The WNET Group, the parent of New York’s flagship PBS station and one of the nation’s leading public media organizations.

A North Dakota native, Ed came to the Library after more than two decades in media, including twelve years at ABC News, the founding editor-in-chief role at NowThis, and leadership positions at CNN, where he rose to Senior Vice President of Content Development. His journalism has been recognized with a Primetime Emmy Award for his work with Anthony Bourdain, two Webby Awards, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and a George Foster Peabody Award for ABC News’ coverage of September 11, 2001. He is the author of the forthcoming The Loves of Theodore Roosevelt (Simon & Schuster).
