Tickets & Entry — Visitor FAQ
How do I buy tickets?
The easiest way is on our website, where you can check availability and choose your date and arrival time. You can also buy at the Welcome Desk when you arrive, subject to availability. Medora is busy in summer, so we recommend booking ahead. To protect your payment information, we’re unable to take bookings or card payments over the phone. Buy tickets ›
Do I need to book in advance, or can I walk up?
We recommend booking online before you visit — especially on weekends, holidays, and our busiest months (June–September) — as it’s the best way to secure your preferred arrival time. Walk-up tickets may be available on the day if capacity allows.
Why does the Library use timed entry?
Timed entry helps us manage how many people arrive throughout the day, which reduces waits and makes the galleries more comfortable to explore. You can arrive up to 15 minutes before your scheduled time, or anytime within your booked hour.
When should I arrive for my timed entry?
Arrive up to 15 minutes before your entry time, or anytime within your booked hour. For example, with a 10:00 AM ticket you’re welcome anytime between 9:45 and 11:00 AM. If you arrive outside your window, we’ll do our best to accommodate you, depending on capacity that day.
Can I change the date or time of my visit?
If your plans change, email us at hello@trlibrary.com before your visit and we’ll do our best to help. Changes are subject to availability and our Ticketing Terms & Conditions.
Can I get a refund or exchange my tickets?
Tickets are generally non-refundable. If your plans change, please email hello@trlibrary.com before your scheduled visit — we’ll always do our best to help, though exchanges are subject to availability and our Ticketing Terms & Conditions.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Tickets are issued to the original purchaser and may not be resold, transferred, or used commercially without the Library’s written consent. Tickets bought through unauthorized third-party sellers may not be valid for entry. See our Ticketing Terms & Conditions for full details.
Can I buy tickets as a gift?
Absolutely. Just note that the email confirmation goes to the purchaser, so you may want to enter the recipient’s details or pass the confirmation along. If you don’t know when they’ll visit, a TRPL membership makes a wonderfully flexible gift — it’s good for a full year with no set date, plus member benefits.
Can I become a member during my visit?
Yes. You can join online, at the Welcome Desk, or during your visit, and our team will help you choose the right membership. Already bought admission? Ask about applying it toward a membership.
Can I leave and re-enter the same day?
Yes. Just let our Welcome Team know before you step out. Keep your ticket handy to scan on your way back in — our wristbands don’t distinguish re-entry, so your ticket is how we welcome you back.
