Food & Drink

From a sealed water bottle in the galleries to a picnic on the Boardwalk, here’s how food and drink work during your visit.

Can I bring food or drinks into the galleries?

You’re welcome to bring a water bottle with a sealed lid into the exhibit galleries. To help protect the exhibits, please enjoy all other food and drink in salt+scoria or our outdoor spaces.

Does salt+scoria accommodate dietary needs?

Yes. salt+scoria offers a range of menu options. Please speak with café staff about any dietary requirements or food allergies and they’ll be glad to help.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes. You’re welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy during your visit. To support salt+scoria, food purchased elsewhere may not be eaten inside the Library building. If you’d like to picnic outdoors, please use the designated picnic tables along the Boardwalk. To protect the landscape, please don’t set up on the prairie or the walkable Rooftop Prairie, and please stay on the Boardwalk rather than walking into the prairie.

Do you sell alcoholic beverages?

Yes. salt+scoria offers a selection of canned beers and wines for purchase. Alcoholic beverages may be enjoyed in the café, the outdoor café seating, or the Breezeway area, and may not be taken off site. Please enjoy responsibly and help us keep the experience welcoming for everyone.
