Signature Experiences Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: September 11, 2026

These Signature Experiences Terms & Conditions (“Signature Experience Terms”) govern the purchase, reservation, and participation in Signature Experiences offered by the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library (“Library”), operated by the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation (“TRPLF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

These Signature Experience Terms supplement the Library’s Ticket Terms & Conditions, available at www.trlibrary.com/tickets/terms. The Ticket Terms & Conditions apply to all Signature Experience purchasers and participants and to the general admission included with a reservation.

If these Signature Experience Terms conflict with the Ticket Terms & Conditions, these Signature Experience Terms control solely with respect to the Signature Experience.

By purchasing, reserving, or participating in a Signature Experience, you agree to these Signature Experience Terms, the Ticket Terms & Conditions, and all posted Library policies.

1. Reservations and Participants

A Signature Experience reservation is valid only for the date, time, experience, and number of participants specified in the reservation. Each reservation may include anywhere from one (1) to eight (8) participants.

The purchase price includes up to the number of participants stated in the applicable experience listing or at checkout. Additional participants may not join the experience unless approved in advance by the Library. Additional charges may apply.

The purchaser is responsible for ensuring that all members of the purchaser’s party are aware of and comply with these Signature Experience Terms, the Ticket Terms & Conditions, and any experience-specific requirements.

Signature Experiences may have additional age, capacity, physical, clothing, safety, or other participation requirements. These requirements will be communicated in the experience listing, during the reservation process, or before the scheduled experience. Participants must comply with all such requirements and with instructions provided by Library staff.

2. Included General Admission

Unless otherwise stated in the experience listing, a Signature Experience reservation includes general admission to the Library for the registered participants on the scheduled experience date.

Included general admission:

  • Is valid only during the Library’s regular operating hours on the scheduled date;
  • Is subject to the Library’s Ticket Terms & Conditions, capacity limitations, exhibit closures, and other posted policies;
  • Has no separate cash value; and
  • May not be used, transferred, refunded, or rescheduled independently from the Signature Experience.

The Library does not guarantee that every exhibit, gallery, program, or interactive experience will be available during a participant’s visit.

3. Payment and Refunds

Full payment is required at the time of purchase unless the Library expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Except as expressly provided in these Signature Experience Terms or required by law, Signature Experience purchases are final and non-refundable.

The purchaser is responsible for reviewing the date, time, participant capacity, and experience details before completing the reservation.

4. Purchaser-Requested Rescheduling

The general ticket rescheduling policy described in the Library’s Ticket Terms & Conditions does not apply to Signature Experiences.

A purchaser may request to reschedule a Signature Experience by contacting the Library at least seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled start time. Subject to availability, the Library will permit one rescheduling of the reservation to another available date within one year of the original experience date.

A rescheduled reservation may be subject to the price, capacity, and experience terms in effect for the new date. The purchaser is responsible for any increase in price. Rescheduling requests made fewer than seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled start time may be denied.

Rescheduling is not complete until confirmed by the Library in writing.

5. Cancellations and No-Shows

A purchaser who cancels a reservation or fails to arrive for the scheduled experience is not entitled to a refund.

Participants must arrive at the designated check-in location by the time stated in their reservation or pre-arrival instructions. Because Signature Experiences have limited capacity and scheduled staffing, late arrival may result in:

  • A shortened experience;
  • The inability to participate in one or more components;
  • The inability to join the experience; or
  • Forfeiture of the reservation.

Late arrival does not entitle the purchaser or participants to a refund or rescheduling.

The Library may consider exceptions for documented emergencies or other extraordinary circumstances at its sole discretion.

6. Participant Changes and Transfers

Signature Experience reservations may not be resold or used for commercial purposes without the Library’s prior written consent.

The purchaser may substitute individual participants within the reserved group by notifying the Library before the experience, provided that:

  • The total number of participants does not exceed the reservation’s capacity;
  • All participants satisfy applicable age, accessibility, safety, and other experience requirements; and
  • The substitution does not require a material change to the reservation.

The Library may require the purchaser or another authorized adult associated with the reservation to be present at check-in. The Library may refuse or revoke reservations purchased through unauthorized third-party sellers.

7. Experience Content and Changes

Signature Experiences may include guided interpretation, special access, demonstrations, outdoor activities, food or beverages, or other components described in the applicable experience listing.

Guides, hosts, locations, schedules, activities, and other components may change because of conservation needs, maintenance, weather, safety concerns, staff availability, exhibit closures, or operational requirements.

The Library may make reasonable substitutions or minor changes that do not materially alter the overall nature of the experience. Such changes do not entitle the purchaser to a refund.

If the Library makes a material change that substantially affects the principal advertised component of the experience, the Library may offer the purchaser a comparable alternative, an opportunity to reschedule, or a refund.

The Library does not guarantee the participation of a particular guide, host, or other individual unless expressly stated as a guaranteed component of the reservation.

8. Cancellation by the Library

The Library may postpone, reschedule, modify, or cancel a Signature Experience because of severe weather, emergencies, government orders, technical failures, safety concerns, staff or host availability, conservation requirements, or other circumstances beyond the Library’s reasonable control.

If the Library cancels an experience and cannot provide it as scheduled, the purchaser may choose to:

  • Reschedule to an available date;
  • Accept a reasonably comparable alternative experience; or
  • Receive a refund of the amount paid for the canceled Signature Experience.

The Library is not responsible for travel, lodging, meals, transportation, or other incidental expenses incurred by purchasers or participants.

9. Accessibility and Participant Needs

The Library is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible experience. Because the locations, activities, and physical requirements of Signature Experiences may differ, participants who need an accommodation are encouraged to contact the Library in advance at hello@trlibrary.com or 701-892-6070.

The Library will work with participants to provide reasonable accommodations when possible. Any essential eligibility requirements, physical demands, environmental conditions, or known accessibility limitations will be identified in the applicable experience description or communicated before participation.

Service animals trained to perform tasks for individuals with disabilities are welcome in accordance with applicable law and Library policy. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.

If an experience includes food or beverages, participants should communicate relevant dietary restrictions or allergy-related needs in advance. The Library will make reasonable efforts to address those needs but may not be able to guarantee an allergen-free environment.

10. Minors

Participants under eighteen (18) must be accompanied and supervised by a parent, legal guardian, teacher, chaperone, or other responsible adult unless the applicable experience expressly provides otherwise.

The accompanying adult is responsible for the conduct and safety of minors in the adult’s care. Minimum ages or other age restrictions may apply to individual Signature Experiences.

11. Privacy and Participant Information

Personal information collected in connection with a Signature Experience is handled in accordance with the Library’s Privacy Policy, available at www.trlibrary.com/privacy.

A purchaser who provides personal information about another participant should provide only information reasonably necessary to administer the reservation and should ensure that the participant, or the participant’s parent or legal guardian when applicable, is aware that the information is being provided to the Library. Participants should not provide medical or other sensitive personal information unless it is reasonably necessary for the Library to consider an accommodation or safely administer the experience.

12. Removal or Revocation

The Library may deny participation, revoke a reservation, or remove a participant from a Signature Experience or Library property for:

  • Violation of these Signature Experience Terms, the Ticket Terms & Conditions, or posted Library policies;
  • Failure to satisfy an experience-specific requirement;
  • Failure to follow staff instructions;
  • Disruptive, unsafe, threatening, or inappropriate conduct;
  • Safety or security concerns; or
  • Conduct that compromises the experience, safety, or dignity of others.

Removal or revocation resulting from a participant’s conduct does not entitle the purchaser or participant to a refund.

13. Governing Terms

The version of these Signature Experience Terms presented or made available at the time of purchase will govern the reservation.

These Signature Experience Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Dakota. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in an appropriate court located in the State of North Dakota.

Questions about a Signature Experience or these Terms may be directed to hello@trlibrary.com or 701-892-6070.
