2025 Year in Review: Building the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library
As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year of extraordinary progress in the Badlands of North Dakota. This video captures how the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is rising from the land—carefully, deliberately, and in deep conversation with the place that shaped Theodore Roosevelt himself.
Designed by Snøhetta, the Library is a living tribute to Theodore Roosevelt and the values he championed: conservation, citizenship, leadership, and action. Two buildings under one shared roof are taking shape—aligned with Theodore Roosevelt National Park and designed to disappear into the landscape rather than dominate it.
This year’s construction progress reflects an ambitious partnership among builders, designers, craftspeople, donors, and public partners—working together to meet an audacious goal: opening the Library to the world on July 4, 2026, in celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
We’re not just building a museum.
We’re building a people’s library.
A place rooted in the land.
A place that invites participation.
A place that asks each of us to step forward.
As Theodore Roosevelt reminded us, progress belongs to those who dare greatly. If you believe in this vision, we invite you to help carry it forward.
